Fulbright Informational Sessions
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars. Global Relations regularly hosts informational sessions to encourage our Illinois community to learn more about this significant program.
We work frequently with our Fulbright representatives to help Illinois faculty and researchers understand the types of awards available, eligibility, and financial support; learn how to gain global opportunities as well as study, conduct research, or teach abroad with full or partial funding; and conduct joint research and exchanges that builds lasting partnerships with institutions in over 125 countries around the world.

Campus Network for International Partnerships (CNIP)
Global Relations is also home to the Campus Network for International Partnerships (CNIP). The purpose of this group to come together to share updates, exchange best practices, and support one another in navigating the challenges and opportunities in international engagement for staff on campus. By fostering this community, we hope to build stronger connections, collaborate on initiatives, and amplify the impact of our global efforts. Community Engagement
Global Relations supports global understanding right here in Champaign-Urbana through community outreach efforts. We recently participated in Welcoming Week with the New American Welcome Center which seeks to highlight the presence and value of over 25,000 foreign-born residents in Champaign County in partnership with the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs through Meet Your Neighbor: A Human Library Event where we engaged the local community at Urbana Free Library in conversations about culture, geography, cuisine, and language.
Looking ahead, we are eager to expand our outreach through more partnerships with K–12 schools and education-focused programs. Engaging youth in conversations about culture and global citizenship not only supports inclusive learning but also nurtures the next generation of community leaders Ultimately, these efforts help bring the values of global understanding and belonging back to our own community and help strengthen connections across cultures.
